Description

Summers Engineering manufactures precision machined components and assemblies. 

Founded in 1953, Summers operates two software enabled factories in Sydney employing over 20 staff.  In recent years, Summers has focussed on building proprietary internal software to be the backbone of our operations. 

This internal software automates everything from day-to-day factory operations, customer paperwork, supply chain operations, resource scheduling, hardware data integrations, quality inspection processes & more. All of this is to ensure Summers delivers precision components on time and quickly.

One core piece of this internal software is our scheduling and forecasting system, which ensures all resources (machine and human) are load balanced to optimise factory scheduling. With this functionality we can provide accurate lead times and on the fly scheduling in response to real work condition changes. 

In combination with the internal software, Summers operates the latest hardware (CNC machines) including: 5 CNC Milling machines and 10 CNC Lathe machines. 

Summers services include: 

• CNC Turning – universal lathes, Swiss lathes and multi-axis mill turns.
• CNC Milling – 3-axis, index 3 + 2 axis mills & fully continuous 5-axis mills. 
• Swiss CNC Machining – small-diameter, high-volume, tight tolerance, complex components.
• Contract Manufacturing – cost effective outsourced production service.
• Hydraulics Machining – machining of manifolds, valves, bodies, castings and more.
• Castings Machining – sand casting, investment casting and die casting machining.
• Post Processes – mechanical assembly and a variety of surface finish options.
• Fabrication and Sheet Metal – sheet metal cutting, bending and fabrication services. 
• Exotic Materials – experienced machining exotic materials such as high-performance stainless-steel allows, nickel, titanium and more.
