Description
Phlow Pty Ltd was established in 2022 as Tasmania’s first additive manufacturing bureau using world leading Markforged industrial 3D fibre reinforced plastic and metal printers.
Phlow Pty Ltd incorporates the latest additive manufacturing technology with the engineering knowledge and expertise of its parent company Harbro Engineering Pty Ltd, which has reliably serviced local, national, and international clients in the agricultural, mining, transportation, food, marine, and defence sectors for 35 years.
Phlow Pty Ltd recognises the enormous potential for growth of the additive manufacturing industry and aims to service the growing demand for industrial quality 3D printed components in the Australian defence industry. Our services range from rapid prototyping and production of precision industrial components to the latest aerospace applications using world leading fibre reinforced plastics and industrial quality metals.
Phlow employs a suite of Markforged 3D printers including the Mark II desktop, X7, and the latest FX20 that produce accurate parts from Onyx, a micro carbon fibre filled nylon with high strength, toughness, and chemical resistance. Continuous carbon fibre, Kevlar or HSHT fibreglass can be added during the print process to yield aluminium-strength parts with a near flawless surface finish. Other Onyx variants offer electrostatic dissipation (ESD), fire retardant (FR and FR-A) properties for specialised applications ideal for the defence industry. The FX20 also prints the new Ultem 9085 filament, an extremely durable high temperature printing polymer that exhibits excellent flame, smoke, and toxicity (FST) characteristics. It is an exceptionally strong PEI thermoplastic developed especially for aerospace applications.
Phlow Pty Ltd also has 2 Markforged Metal X printers capable of printing components in 17-4 PH Stainless Steel, A2, D2, and H13 tool steel, Inconel 625 super alloy and copper. Specialised components can be accurately and conveniently produced with very short lead times.
Phlow Pty Ltd also offers 3D scanning capabilities allowing rapid and accurate measuring as well as reverse engineering of components for many applications. The affiliation with Harbro Engineering provides a convenient post print machining and engineering capability leading to a comprehensive blend of additive manufacturing and conventional machining services.
