For six days every two years Avalon Airport becomes the home of everything exciting, inspiring and innovative across the spectrum of aviation, from Australia and around the world.

The Avalon Australian International Airshow is a unique blend of industry, defence, commercial and recreational aviation. Part airshow spectacle, part business event, part careers fair, it attracts enthusiasts, professionals and the general public, by the hundreds of thousands, from around the world.

Since its debut in 1992, Avalon has stood at the forefront of aviation excellence. It was here that Australians first witnessed the formidable Russian Sukhoi SU-27 fighter, the cutting-edge Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor stealth jet, and the homegrown pride of the Royal Australian Air Force - the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II.

Avalon has welcomed a dazzling array of international participants, from the Republic of Korea Air Force's spectacular Black Eagles aerobatic team to the colossal Antonov An-124 cargo plane and Japan's advanced Kawasaki C-2 transport aircraft, accompanied by the powerful rhythms of a traditional Taiko drumming troupe.
