Australian company specialised in Project Management, Engineering Services and Through Life Support in Shipbuilding, with a significant, indigenous engineering capability gained through participation in AWD, LHD and LLC projects.
Navantia Australia Pty Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Navantia SA, the international Spanish Shipbuilder, is an Australian company that specialises in Project Management, Engineering Services and Through Life Support in the naval domain. It is responsible for marketing Navantia’s products and services in the Australasian region.
Navantia Australia has gained significant engineering capability through its participation in the Air Warfare Destroyer project (AWD) as the ship designer and through its Ship Management Services contract; the Landing Helicopter Dock Project (LHD); and the LHD Landing Craft Project (LLC. Additionally, Navantia Australia is supporting the design and build of the RAN’s two, new Replenishment Ships (AORs), and will support them through life in Australia.
Navantia’s engineering capability covers most of the shipbuilding areas from conceptual design to test and activation activities and in-service support. Its engineering capability provides Navantia with the ability to supply services to the Australian Government and the Australian Defence Industry.
Navantia Australia is also the supplier of the Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS) which is installed in the Canberra Class LHDs and the Hobart Class DDGs of the Royal Australian Navy, and which will be installed in the AORs. Should Navantia’s design be selected for the SEA 5000 Future Frigates, the IPMS will be installed in these vessels.
Navantia Australia also specialises in provision of Through Life Support (TLS) Services, which are provided by a skilled team of personnel having detailed knowledge of the products and systems to be maintained.
Navantia is committed to develop, implement, keep updated and certify by Accredited External Entities the Quality Management System (QMS, according to standards and/or publications AQAP 2110, 2120, 2210, EN ISO 9001:2008, EN 9100), the Occupational Health and Safety Management (OHSM as per standards OHSAS 18001:2007) and the Environmental Management System (EMS, as per standard ISO 14001:2004).
